'I'm not hungry' - TO BE in the present
This lesson is about forms of verb 'to be' in negative sentences. We're still in the present.

To make a negative sentence we have to add 'not' to the forms you've learnt about in the previous post. You can read that post HERE.
The table shows all forms of 'to be' we're interested in today:
full forms
I am not a journalist.
You are not a very good teacher.
She is not from Iceland.
He is not 30 (thirty) years old.
It is not a nice view.
We are not neighbours.
You are not fantastic parents.
They are not interested in foreign languages.
When we talk about somebody else we may use names
instead of personal pronouns (she, he, it, we, you, they):
Tina is not a good driver. (Tina = she)
Marcus is not good at maths. (Marcus = he)
The dog is not hungry today. (the dog = it)
I and my parents are not well. (I and my parents = we)
Your new friends are not very polite! (your new friends = they)
In English informal language we can use short forms of verb 'to be' in negatives as well. We put an apostrophe instead of a letter we omit.

She's not from Mexico, she's from Brazil.
He's not a polite person.
It's not my bag!.
We're not suntanned.
You're not as old as you think.
They're not the best drivers in the world :).
