Always, never, sometimes ... - adverbs of frequency

How often do you go on holiday? How often do you dance zumba or swim? How often do you go to a restaurant? How often do you and your friends get together? How often are you late for work? 

To answer these questions we need to use adverbs of frequency. What are they? 

Jak często jezdzisz na wakacje? Jak często tanczysz zumbę lub pływasz? Jak często chodzisz do restauracji? Jak często spotykasz sie z przyjaciółmi? Jak często spózniasz się do pracy?

Aby odpowiedzieć na te pytania musimy użyć przysłówków częstotliwości. Co to są przysłówki częstotliwości?

Adverbs of frequency are words that tell us how often something happens. 

Są to słowa, które mowią nam, jak często coś się dzieje.

Where do we put a frequency adverb into a sentence, then? Watch these sentences and try to find the answer.

I usually have eggs for breakfast.

That's right. We put it between a noun and a verb.

What about sentences with the verb 'to be'? Here the rule is different. Look at the examples:

An adverb of frequency comes after verb 'be'.

Przysłówki częstotliwości wstawiamy po odpowieniej formie czasownika 'be' (być).

Usually and sometimes can also come at the beginning or end of a sentence.

Usually i sometimes mogą także stać na początku oraz na koncu zdania.

Sometimes I feel sleepy at school.

I feel sleepy at school sometimes.

I sometimes feel sleepy at school.

Usually I meet my friends at the weekends.

I meet my friends at the weekends usually.

I usually meet my friends at the weekends.
